ProSiebenSat.1 Media has signed a long-term agreement with Vodafone for the distribution of its free, paid, HD, and video-on-demand content.
From the end of this month, Vodafone customers will be able to access ProSiebenSat.1-owned on-demand service, Maxdome, via Vodafone’s new GigaTV entertainment platform.
For the first time, Vodafone viewers with a cable TV or IPTV connection will be able to receive, two free TV stations from the ProSiebenSat.1 Group in HD quality – Sat.1 Gold and ProSieben Maxx.
Pay TV stations Sat.1 Emotions and Kabel Eins Classics will also be available in Vodafone’s HD Premium Plus package, while ProSieben Fun HD will be added to the HD Premium package.
“Vodafone is a very attractive partner. In addition to the nearly eight million cable TV and IPTV Vodafone households, with the new agreement we will expand our potential reach by more than 30 million mobile and DSL customers,” said ProSiebenSat.1 Group COO, Christof Wahl.
News of Vodafone Germany’s new advanced TV platform, GigaTV, broke yesterday and the service is due to go live this month.
